Chair with a biological seat pan by Philipp Hainke



Halo is a stackable chair with a biological seat pan and a supporting construction made from steel. The hemp and casein based sandwich-material has been developed in his research project Organico. The chair concept has been created to showcase the strength and possibilities of this lightweight material. The utilisation of renewable resources in his Organico project, sees the Bavarian designer create a furniture collection from hemp fibres that are pressed together using an adhesive made from calcium hydroxide and casein. The innovative design won 2nd Prize at the 10th edition of the SaloneSatellite Award.
