Railways Stations To Get A Makeover With Local Culture, History




The Indian railways are face-lifting railway stations across the country improving the basic facilities to give a better consumer experience. Among the 90 railway stations that have been listed out by the railway ministry lately, 2 stations namely, Haridwar and Dehradun are set to receive a cultural and historical up-gradation with the façade showcasing elements of local culture and history of the respective places. This change has been initiated with a motive to “give an aesthetic makeover to the most visited stations”, the department said. The historical reflection in the façades of railway stations is in addition to the redevelopment and up-gradation of basic amenities of 600 stations across the country.
