‘Breeze and Seismic Tremors Posed Great Challenges While Building The Statue of Unity’: Ram V Sutar

Within a tenure of 60 years, Ram Sutar’s hands have immortalised countless realistic sculptors, including influential personalities like Mahatma Gandhi to Rabindra Nath Tagore, Chattrapati Shivaji and even the World’s Tallest Statue ‘Statue of Unity’.

Talking about how the building of the world’s tallest statue came into being and what are the challenges he faced, Sutar told the team of Surfaces Reporter, “There was a statue of Sardar Patel installed at Ahmadabad airport which was liked by our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
